The Special Education team at DCS has compiled some of the most frequently asked questions regarding special education services, processes, and screenings.

Does the DCS Preschool Program accept students who are in need of support services?
Yes, the preschool services all students—with special needs or without. Please see the information about Child Find screenings or contact Amy Crawn at 463-7422, ext. 105, for questions about registration.
Does the school district provide any screenings for special needs services?
Yes, the Deerfield School District offers screenings through Child Find. This free screening opportunity is for children ages 3 to 5 to identify any special needs or developmental delays as early as possible. The screenings are help throughout the year at every school in our SAU; you may attend any one of the events regardless of which district you reside in.
