The 4th graders from Ms. Laskowsky’s class have been busy. Upon returning from winter break, students chose a biography to read. Most students are completing their notes, and beginning to write about their research. The students will present their projects on February 18th. In addition, the students are practicing long division, and learning about the history of the planet earth. As part of our government unit, we have the opportunity to explore the special kind of civic engagement that overtakes New Hampshire every 4 years during the NH Primary. The history and traditions are fascinating, with a strong message for citizens to get involved. NHPR is interested in how schools approach this subject and plans to come to Deerfield and record our class, stay tuned for more information. So if your 4th grader is feeling kind of tired, we are working hard, thinking critically, and learning a lot.
